Frozen friend rescue - persistence is key
Get this one ready the night before - an icy adventure is great for a summer's day!

What you'll need:
- Small plastic toys
- Old ice cream containers or similar
- Water
- Salt shaker with salt
- Paintbrushes
- Tools suitable for digging through the ice
What to do:

Place a few toys in each container and fill with water. Place in the freezer overnight.

Tip the big ice blocks out onto the grass or an outdoor mat or table, along with the brushes, digging tools and salt shakers.

Encourage your child to rescue the toys. What can they use to melt, scrape or crack the ice without 'ínjuring' their toys?
