Hearing hunt - tune into nature

Encourage children to ‘tune in’ and expand awareness of their surroundings. Through this activity, children can deepen their appreciation for the natural environment and practice gratitude.

What you'll need:
- Nothing but the great outdoors, i.e. just a place to go outside such as your local park!
What to do:
- Go for a walk outside with your child and pause every so often to tune into your surroundings.
- Ask your child - "what can you hear? Are there birds tweeting? Dogs barking? Footsteps? The wind in the trees?" Make a note of everything you hear.
- Return home and encourage your child to draw a picture or write a story based on what they heard.
