Playdough and pom-pom snakes

In this fun playdough multisensory activity, children can work specifically on fine motor skills to produce a simple snake!

Skills and benefits:

  • Bimanual coordination
  • Manual dexterity
  • Pincer grasp development
  • Hand strength
What you’ll need:

  • Playdough
  • Googly eyes
  • Pipe-cleaner
  • Pom-poms or beads
What to do:

  1. Roll out your playdough into a long tube/snake shape.

  2. Stick on googly eyes (you can use anything you have at home e.g. beads or poke some holes with a pencil or BBQ skewer).

  3. Push 3 pom-poms onto the back of the snake.

  4. Stick tongue (pipe cleaner) on the front of the snake.
