What you'll need:
- Plastic containers with lids of all shapes and sizes
- Wooden spoons, whisks or spatulas
- Measuring cups and spoons (stacking if possible)
What to do:
- Select a kitchen cupboard in the kitchen away from the stove and high traffic areas. Clean it out and add your chosen materials.
- Allow your child to access this cupboard and remind them it is their special kitchen cupboard.
- Play with your child on the floor, testing the properties of each item and learning how to say them.
- Encourage your child to play. The open-ended nature of the items will have them playing creatively in no time!
